I looked at several options in terms of a solar inverter. The Deye 8kw and SunSynk 8kw was also on my list, however I had friends using the 5kw Luxpower unit and they were very happy. I decided to opt for Luxpower, I did not have a lot of space available as I wanted 2x 5kw inverters, but had to settle for a single inverter - 10 kw Luxpower. I must confess this thing is a beast, we installed 3x Dyness DL 5kw batteries and 14x 545w JA Solar panels. If we have no clouds for the day/week/month we practically use no Eskom power. We use an average of 35 units a day on Eskom (1100 units a month) and our Eskom consumption has dropped to 680 units for the past 6months. It is a challenge to everyone educated in utilizing appliances during the day instead of the night, but we are winning. We have a borehole pump, pressure pump, dishwasher, oven, microwave, 2x fridge/freezers, washing machine, our 2x electric geysers, lights, several TV's and kettle running from this inverter, we recently built a car port and the unit responded well while welding and grinding. I can happily recommend this inverter to anyone in the market taking their house as far as possible off the grid. We have not connected the generator yet, but we are looking at doing it as soon as Eskom introduces the monthly line charge. The Sales Team identified my needs perfectly and I must say this system is well matched for our needs.
